    Biography

    France , 1978

Passionate about deep diving, Carole Azuar (France, b. 1978) is also a renowned neurologist. In the depth of the seas, she finds a beauty and a poetry that cannot be explained in words.
She began to photograph the underwater world in 2005 and has since navigated back and forth across the world’s seas and oceans, capturing stunning, poetic images of the abyss.
These underwater shots are almost all taken in extreme conditions, at depths close to 180 feet below the surface. Working in such conditions requires both technical mastery and a sharp eye.
Having accumulated thousands of images, Azuar felt the need to share that trove with people beyond the diving community and to communicate the wonderment she felt when immerging herself in those deep blue regions.
She had a fist solo exhibition in Paris in 2022 under the patronage of two major photographers, Jean-Baptiste Huynh and Dominique Issermann. This will be her first exhibition in the USA.
