"Tangier, Simple interiors"
from Wednesday, September 13, 2017 to Saturday, November 11, 2017
Galerie XII Paris
In the tradition of Walker Evans and vernacular photography, Daniel Aron shows here his very personal vision of Tangier, Morocco. The photographer immortalizes everyday objects, insignificant details that fill these interiors that he describes as "simple": here a mirror, there a pan, further sandals or a few trinkets affixed on a shelf suggest the marks of a temporary lifestyle.
From Jesus Christ, to Bob Marley and King Mohammed V: so many icons come to magnify and suspend these ordinary moments. Under the objective gaze of the photographer, beauty emerges in the ordinary decor, the light in the simplicity of the layout, such as this family gathered on a sofa, lit by the flame of a gas cylinder ... The interiority spiritual then arises material elements of the inhabitants.
